This is just a small sampling of the Traditional Latin Mass in the Diocese of Cleveland. Hopefully, God willing, this is the first installment of what will be a multi-part series giving viewers an inside look into Cleveland’s Latin Mass, it’s culture and those involved in it. When Fr. Nikolas Gihr authored his two volume set on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, he described the liturgy as "an unfailing mine of religious instruction and edification." A "mine" is an interesting way to describe the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. What exactly is a mine? It is source of riches to be excavated for and discovered. "This glorious rite of the Sacrifice of the Mass is an unfailing mine of religious instruction and edification; it is like an immensely rich mine, where always new veins of gold are disclosed to the searching look. Even if we were to devote our entire life to considering in our mediations and prayers the mystical liturgy of the Mass, there would still remain for our heart and mind new treasures; still new riches would reveal themselves and new beauties would be disclosed. And yet, though it is so deep as to prove inexhaustible to even the greatest contemplative saint, it is, at the same time, so clear and easy of comprehension that the most artless child as well as the most simple of the faithful finds therein light, strength and nourishment for his religious life." Fr. Gihr describes most perfectly the Traditional Latin Mass. In fact, it's what he knew when he wrote it. Cleveland, indeed the whole world, has experienced a demonstrative growth of the Catholic Faith specifically through the Traditional Latin Mass. In a time of liturgical cancellations, Latin Masses are being added. Priests, religious and the laity have all experienced similar renewals of Faith and devotion. They have discovered the riches! There are currently ten parishes in Cleveland offering the Latin Mass regularly. Unfortunately, the message from the highest levels of Christ's Church is against the TLM and its adherents — Faithful Catholics. We pray earnestly that the example of many other bishops around the United States —deciding to continue with the Latin Masses unaltered in their dioceses— will be the decision that Bishop Malesic makes. Many individuals and families have built their lives and Faith on this Mass since Pope Benedict's motu proprio authorized widespread use of it by priests. It would hurt greatly and be entirely counter-productive to Faithful Catholics who have found stability in a chaotic world by worshiping at the Traditional Latin Mass. Pray for the purification of the Church, for the softening of hardened hearts, and for the continued growth of the Traditional Latin Mass.

Dear Friends, This video was quickly made to just be included in a blog post about the Feast of Our Lady of Carmel at Mary Queen of Peace on July 16, 2021. Fr. Brown will offer that Mass and enroll the faithful into the brown scapular. We know this sacramental. It's all about Our Lady. It's there to help us imitate her....praying the rosary, practicing chastity and humility. You know, the normal stuff. But the scapular is there to remind ourselves. Immaculate Conception Church in Cleveland, Ohio, offered a Solemn High Mass for the feast of the Epiphany. This feast recognizes the moment Christ was revealed to the Gentiles, represented by the Three Magi - Caspar, Melchior and Balthazar. Epiphany is the 12th day of Christmas, January 6th. In Catholic tradition, chalk is blessed on this feast. The Faithful receive pieces of this chalk to take home and bless their homes. The attack on the Traditional Latin Mass since the The attack on the Traditional Latin Mass since the publication of Traditionis Custodes has impacted the lives of Faithful Catholics all over the world. It’s easy for us as laypeople to focus on the hurt and complications we will face or are already facing. But what of those priests who have embraced the celebration of this liturgy? Those who have benefited in their own spiritual life and priesthood, if not having fully renewed it? Will they not hurt too, if their ability to offer the Traditional Latin Mass is taken from them? With that said, a novena is approaching with an opportunity to petition Our Lord for much needed graces and spiritual benefits through the intercession of St. Therese of the Child Jesus. St. Therese had a special devotion to the priesthood. Though living an obscure life tucked away in a French cloister as a Carmelite nun, St. Therese’s life was spent in offering prayer and sacrifice for the priesthood. Of course, she has carried her love for priests with her into heaven and is known by many of them for her special care in their regard. The novena begins on September 25 and ends on October 3. One of the reasons for the placement of the Feast of Christ the King on the last Sunday in October, as originally promulgated, was that it would ordinarily fall before the feasts of All Saints and All Souls. Strictly speaking, a king precedes his court. When Pope Pius XI wrote Quas Primas, instituting the feast day, he said, “before celebrating the triumph of all the Saints, we proclaim and extol the glory of him who triumphs in all the Saints and in all the Elect.” The photograph shows a moment from the communion of the Faithful. Today, August 22, 2021, the pastor told the congregation that he was with Bishop Malesic over the last few days. The bishop wanted the pastor to assure the TLM Faithful that he loves them, is thankful for them and prays for them. He said he is discerning the implementation of Traditionis Custodes because it isn’t exactly clear and, as the pastor said, has some holes.
