FINAL Saturday Mass for Fr. Bede at St. Elizabeth

Since about 2018, Fr. Bede Kotlinski OSB has offered the Traditional Latin Mass on Saturdays at St. Elizabeth of Hungary, except for First Saturdays.

Given the new direction the Traditional Latin Mass is going in the Diocese of Cleveland, with the Institute of Christ the King preparing to take over St. Elizabeth beginning September 24, 2023…this coming Saturday, the 23rd, will be the final regularly scheduled Saturday Mass for Fr. Bede. Final is used here cautiously, because Bishop Edward Malesic has given the diocesan TLM priests permission to help the Institute whenever it is needed.

If there has been one, singular, underlying constant and common denominator to the celebration of the TLM in the Diocese of Cleveland in this post-conciliar, post-indult era, it most assuredly is Fr. Bede.

Since his ordination in 1985, he has assisted with the Traditional Latin Mass, beginning at St. Philomena in East Cleveland, through Immaculate Conception on Superior Avenue, St. Stephen and most recently St. Elizabeth. Countless Faithful attached to the TLM have been blessed with sacraments administered by Fr. Bede.

Saturday would be a good opportunity to show up and support Fr. Bede.

  1. Can’t make it on Saturday, but our beloved Fr. Bede will be with us on Sunday Sept. 24th at St. Sebastians in Akron, where he has faithfully served us the TLM for 13 years. We sincerely hope he will continue in some capacity with the TLM in the coming shift in TLM masses in the Cleveland diocese. He is a true treasure for the church.
