We are pleased to be hosting Father Stephen Concorida, OSB at Mary Queen of Peace for a Chant Workshop. Mary Queen of Peace is hosting two Gregorian Chant Workshops titled: “The Gregorian Melody: the expressive power of the Word.” which will be presented by Fr. Stephen Concordia, O.S.B. The workshops are based on an Italian textbook by Monsignor Alberto Turco, which has been translated into English by Fr. Concordia and will be published in 2023.
Fr. Concordia has an extensive background in Gregorian chant and is an Instructor in Gregorian Chant and Conducting at the Saint Gregory Institute of Sacred Music, Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and an Adjunct Professor of Gregorian Chant at the Mary Pappert School of Music, Duquesne University.
The workshops will take place July 15th and 16th.

Friday, July 15: for Choir Directors/Soloists

7 pm Third Workshop
8 pm Sung Compline
Saturday, July 16: for Choir Members
10 am First Workshop

12:45 pm Third Workshop
1:30 pm Sung Vespers
On Monday, July 11th we will be holding a rehearsal for Compline from 6:00-7:00 PM and a rehearsal for Vespers from 7:00-8:00 PM. All are invited to participate in these rehearsals to familiarize yourself with the closing prayer at the workshops.
Registration deadline is Monday, July 11th. The fee for Choir Directors and Soloists is $45.00. The fee for Choir Members is $25.00.
